Dr. Gerry P. Madden, DVM
Dr. Gerry Madden graduated from the University College Dublin in 1976 with an MVB MRCVS (DVM). After practicing in Ireland and UK early in his career, Dr. Madden immigrated to the United States with his family, eventually settling in the suburbs of Philadelphia. In 1987, Dr. Madden finally opened the doors of Madden Animal Hospital in Ambler, PA. The small animal clinic has thrived while providing quality veterinary service to the community ever since. With decades of experience, Dr. Madden has the skills to handle all of your pets’ medical needs and the expertise to put worried pet owners at ease. Dr. Madden enjoys his work enormously and has established many wonderful relationships with his clients. In his spare time, Dr. Madden enjoys golfing, traveling back to Ireland, and spending time with his family and their two Jack Russell Terriers.
Dr. Mary Madden, DVM
Dr. Mary Madden also graduated from University College Dublin in 1976 with an MVB MRCVS (DVM). Mary spent her early veterinary career working on both small and large animals in Europe before relocating with her family to the USA. After helping to establish Madden Animal Hospital in its early years, Mary continued on in a managerial capacity, devoting much of her time to rearing her 6 children. She now serves as the clinic's Office Manager and oversees the smooth running of the practice. Mary enjoys cycling, reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her children and dogs.
Dr. Julie Thorndyke, DVM
Dr. Thorndyke has been serving as Madden Animal Hospital’s primary relief veterinarian for the past 14 years. After completing her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, Dr. Thorndyke went on to Cornell's School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1995. She focuses on small animals in her work and particularly enjoys internal medicine.
Dr. Kian P. Madden, VMD
Dr. Kian Madden, Dr. Madden’s son, starting working as the clinic’s veterinary technician 12 years ago during his summer breaks from school. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Biology, Kian went on to Penn’s School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2010 with a VMD. Kian currently lives and practices as a veterinarian in Los Angeles, but frequently returns home to fill in as a relief veterinarian at Madden Animal Hospital.
Dr. Saibh Madden, DVM
Saibh is Dr. Madden’s only daughter and has been working part-time as a technician at Madden Animal Hospital for 5 years. Saibh graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 with an undergraduate degree in French and Biology. She recently completed her veterinary degree at Szent István University in Hungary, graduating in February 2014. Saibh plans to spend her early career as a veterinarian in Europe before returning home to USA.
